Hello hippies, freespirits, longhairs, bohemians, whatever you want to be called! I would like to mention that I am most certainly one of you. And I'm sure, as most hippies have, have an essential knowledge of the 60's revolutionary band, The Beatles.
Yeah, well, I'm making a collaboration channel for y'all who are fans!
Basicially, a collab channel is when five people start a Youtube channel for them to share. Each person is assigned a day. And on that day, they make a video of themselves, in our case, talking about life and the band!
So, if you think this is something you'd be interested in or want more information about, please message me or something!

Sign the Petition against War with Iran

The press has reported that President Bush gave a "prepare to deploy" order to the nuclear-equipped aircraft carrier USS Eisenhower and its accompanying strike force. They are now headed for the Persian Gulf, just off the coast of Iran. This could be the first step of planned military action against Iran.

As a first step in opposing this, please sign the petition, hosted by Just Foreign Policy and Peace Action, calling on our government not to attack Iran: http://www.justforeignpolicy.org/involved/iranpetition.html

At a time when our troops are still in Iraq, where the violence is really spinning out of control, it does not make any sense to attack Iran. However, it seems that our government may actually do it unless the American people restrain them. That is why signing this petition right now is so urgent. Of course, this is only the first step, but it is an important step.

Please sign now and then forward this link to your friends: http://www.justforeignpolicy.org/involved/iranpetition.html

Uganda's calling - will you answer?

Answer the call.

Sorry if this is not allowed in the community, I can remove it if asked - but I thought some of you might be interested in this new community.

I'm a board member of ugandacalling, and we exist to raise awareness of and work for the end of the civil war in Northern Uganda, which has victimized many innocent civilians, particularly children, and left many homeless and desperately poor. We're trying to provide resources for local groups working on this issue - collecting petitions for groups to circulate, providing ideas for fundraisers for worthy projects, posting news articles and bulletins about Uganda, and letting activists and interested people get together to learn more and network with each other. And we still need lots of people to help us carry on all these functions and get us off the ground as a nonprofit - as well as community leaders who'd like to start something for Uganda!

If you're interested in learning more or helping out, please check out the community - everyone's very nice and positive, we'd love to see you!

*pokes community* Are we alive?

I actually found you all in looking for communities for a fandom of mine that seems almost dead (I'm one of the four or five non-Mary Sue writers for it, which should be a clue as to which one ~_^ If my icon wasn't ~_^)

I also am into many of the things this comm is (Trigun and FFVII are big interests. I'm semi convinced that otaku are the new hippies ~_^), and I'd like to introduce as interests the musician Hyde. If you've never heard of him, google for some of his lyrics: some have said he's possibly en route to becoming the Japanese U2, and I'd somewhat agree, but I think he's a LOT more than just a U2 clone. I especially recommend "It's Sad," "Mission," and "Dolly" from the latest album.

^_^ Love and peace, all.

Hate Crimes

The following was written for my Eng class last term -- thought I would include it in my LJ.

Mathew Shephered was a gay college student. October 6, 1998, he was at a Laramie Wyoming bar. Two men, Aaron McKinney and Russell Henderson, walked in. The two drove with Shephered to an open field, beat, tied him to a fence, and stole his wallet and shoes. Later he was found by two motorcyclists who actually thought he was a scarecrow because the way he was leaning and tied to the fence. Shephered was flown to Poudre Valley Hospital where he was in critical condition for days. He died of injuries on October 12, 1998.

James Byrd, a 49 year old black man in Texas was beaten, changed to the back of a truck and dragged for miles. The three men, John King, Lawrence Brewer, and Shawn Berry were later arrested. “I feel as though I've been (dragged) 120 miles, chained by my feet, to the bumper of a Corvette doing about 90 mph.“ This was written by Brewer in 1993 to his ex-wife and said in court that it was a coincidence and had only kicked Byrd once.

A 38 year old Journalist, Daniel Pearl, was kidnapped on January 23rd and later killed. The kidnappers had videotaped him while alive and his murder. Pearl was the 10th reporter to be killed that did coverage on the “war on terror” according to the Committee to Protect Journalists. Pearl thought that he was meeting someone after following a tip from a sorch about a story of an accused “shoe bomber”. His kidnappers wanted the release of Pakistani detainees in Cuba. Pearl was accused of being a spy, that the CIA and his newspaper had denied, but the kidnappers said they would kill Pearl if the demands of letting the Pakistani detainees go. Pearl was a journalist for 14 years.

Robert Davis was beaten by police officers on October 9, 2005. He is a retired elementary school teacher and lives in New Orleans. The Associated Press filmed the beating, even after one of the police officers pushed the cameraman behind a truck. Davis does not believe that he was assaulted because he is African American and the four police officers were white. Davis was being charged with battery, public intoxication, and resisting arrest. He says that he has not had a drink in 25 years. Lance Schilling, S.M. Smith, and Robert Evangelist, the officers, were released after pleading not guilty to a judged and placed bond. Robert Evangelist and Lance Schilling were fired and Stuart Smith was suspended for 120 days for participating in the beating. All charges against Davis were dropped.

In “Tomorrow Will Be a Better Day” a 16 year old, named Josh Rittenberg, explains how his father is worried about what is going to happen in Josh’s generation. As Josh looks through family photos he realizes things that his grandparents and great-grandparents witnessed during their lives. Josh mentions how his generation will go through bad and good situations as they did. His Dad always told him when he was younger how tomorrow will be a better day, and Josh wanted to tell his Dad the same when he was worrying about Josh’s generation.

“We Are Each Other’s Business” by Eboo Patel talks about doing something instead of keeping the silence when things are said or done that would hurt someone. He mentions his Jewish friend and how he didn’t step in or be there to comfort his friend. He realizes now after feeling humililiated about that part of his life, that he can’t take back what happened during that time, but can actively take part on preventing it from happening to others.

If you want to change the world, you can't just wait and wish for it to happen -- you got to be part of the action

I fave a better version for the last one...

We are just a people,
can't you see,
we want no war,
so let us be.

  2006.04.30  13.04
Look at that...

Once, a few days ago, I was in a really bad mood...
So I wrote a song.....really not bad
It is not juat a poem, but it also has a really nice melody.

Love and Peace on world,
that's what we live for,
Love and Peace for U,
no mater who U are.

Love and Peace on Earth,
no mater what they say,
we want Love and Peace
for our families.

People are dying for no use,
peace is like a necklece which we can lose.

When you look
at sycneses or dying,
tell me,
what's the use of crying?

If you are brave and smart,
you will try to stop it,
and insist for guns and knives,
let people just dropp it.

We are all just people,
can't you see?
And we wan't no war but just PEACE.

SO, people, what do you think???????????'

Mood: Yo people let us fight

A cry into cyberspace

Somewhen, somehow, something went horribly wrong with our species.

I cannot, we cannot believe that people exist as a cancer upon this planet.

We have the potential to do so much better. So much better.

How can we bring life to other planets when we can't even take care of the life on this one?

Terra has given us everything, and instead of gratitude we give hatred.

To those who care, those few left; the time to act came long ago.

Do not ignore the problem.

The most important time to live in the history of our planet has come.

year of the rat

June is on the run for so long
Pushed and pulled then shunned
It was so wrong
These fours walls crashing in won't stop me now
Cause I'm alive, I'm out tonight, all night

Everybody needs to know it's the year of the rat
Every day we've got to hold on
'cause if we hold on we could find some new energy

Streets with flags unfurled like treasure
Thank me for my words, it's a pleasure
Just don't ask me to stay 'cause I'll be gone
But it's alright I'm OK - always

Everybody needs to know it's the year of the rat
Every day we've got to hold on
'cause if we hold on we could find some new energy

One plus one is one - together
One plus one is one - forever
One plus one is one - together
One plus one is one - forever

Everybody needs to know it's the year of the rat
Everybody needs to know it's the year of the rat
Everybody needs to know it's the year of the rat
Everybody needs to know it's the year of the rat
Every day we've got to hold on
'cause if we hold on we could find some new energy

"One plus one plus one plus one is four"

"Plus one"
"Plus one"
"Plus one"

alright i seem to have created some confusion. My ranting post was to stir some emotion in people, get them going, see who i could get to stand up and use their voice. I was not stating i wanted to take the world on and solve all problems at once. Oh dear me, no. I have a goal. This is what i have figured out thus far. I am sick of people ranting ranting ranting, no action. So my movement, voice, will get things done. I have so many things i want to fight for but i cant do it all at once, so i need to narrow it down. ONce i narrow it down and get my first main 'cause', if you will, and start some action. I will get media attention for this and then slowly but surely attack causes one by one. Patience and class will take us far. I have many good ideas and i have a good way to get to people. I promise once i get this straightened out i will explain and let you know what you can do and exactly what this fight is for haha. Know now that basically its our time to speak up, have a voice, and most importantly be heard and get shit done! peace,

  2005.12.16  12.25

alright, so here's the deal. I have a voice. Im taking a stand. My friend Grace has pledged that she will join me. Now our voice has grown a little louder. If you are ready to fight back please contact me and once we get things going i will let you know what you can do. The wheels in my head are turninn and i already have many ideas stirring. If you want to be set free, join us. If you are sick of society's pressure and ideals being shoved down your throat, join us. If you are sick of computers, the media, w/e thinking for you, join us. If you are sick of our country being run by this fool join us. If you are sick of prejudice, sexist, racist, anything, join us. No matter what color your skin is, your age, your background, what you look like, what you stand for, how many eyes you have, join us. If you are ready to get some morals installed back into this messed up world join us. If you are ready to fight for true freedom and being allowed to do or use whatever whenever, join us. If you are ready to stand for what you believe in and take a few blows (trust me it will get ugly) then join us. If this interests you at all or you know anyone who you think it will contact me, please. Any bit of help you can offer will be much appreciated.
